Waves Around the World.

Problem.

Design a static infographic poster that details a subject matter that is personal to you that allows you to teach somebody about the topic with the information provided.

Solution.

After a lot of conceptualizing, I eventually landed the topic of surfing since it was an activity I had been doing my whole life that had a lot of great stats and information I could add to the poster. I decided to provide information such as preferable wind direction, wave size, difficulty level, and then some statistics about my time surfing there. Once I figured out the information I wanted to include, I started brainstorming how I wanted the poster to look. I decided a darker more modern-looking design would be the best. I decided on Navy blue, red, and white as my color palette and then moved to pick a font that fit my aesthetic. I landed on a font called Pasadena. For my visualization, I decided to go with simple lines and dots to simulate the chaotic but also flowing nature of water, kind of simulating its simple structure in order to fit with the modern aesthetic I was going for.
